Leading Outsource Supplier of DLP Light Engine Repair
We repair optical problems, alignment and other typical DLP® light engine defects that cannot be repaired to factory specification in the field.
Our service is typically after-warranty service for Partner Manufacturers. We do not accept service requests directly from individual consumers.
HVT forms an alliance with manufacturers ("Partner Manufacturers") to reduce the high cost of replacement DLP light engines. With HVT's services, Partner Manufacturers can repair their own or OEM light engines and replenish inventory without paying premium prices for new or refurbished light engines from other sources. This service also can dramatically reduce the need for costly final buys, because the repaired light engines will continuously replenish parts inventory.
Partner Manufacturers have the option to pass cost savings for replacement DLP light engines on to the independent service providers that support their products.
In addition to cost savings, the repair of costly DLP light engines contributes to compliance with environmental legislation.
By using state-of-the-art equipment and applying custom-engineered precision fixtures and software, HVT delivers repaired units that have a consistent high quality and reliability—generally exceeding the original manufacturer specifications. Our skilled workers thoroughly test and calibrate each light engine for proper geometrical alignment and color in our custom darkroom, to ensure we deliver the highest quality repair and yield possible.
HVT offers a full six-month workmanship warranty on all repaired DLP light engines, with quick turn times and very high yields (95% or higher with manufacturer support, and 80% or higher without support).
Overall, manufacturers who partner with HVT receive:
- Substantial cost savings compared to new product replacement costs.
- Fast turn times—typically days or weeks, compared to weeks or months for the procurement of new replacement light engines (if available)
- Long-term parts availability that helps service parts departments achieve the ever-increasing expectations of product life cycle requirements
- Highest-quality service and repair that frequently exceeds original manufacturer specifications
- No risk. No start-up costs, and all repaired units receive a 6-month workmanship warranty
- Compliance with US and global environmental guidelines for electronics recycling and disposal.
Repairable defects include:
- Defective DMD chips/sockets
- Defective color wheel
- Geometry-related defects
- Defective electronics components (ballasts, lamp circuits)
- No video (dead)
- Optical defects (lens, light path)

For DLE models that have not had prior analysis, you must provide to HVT:
- Limited consignment of a virgin light engine that meets all manufacturing design specifications
- Five defective light engines
- OEM technical information (parts availability, specialized engine technology data, and on-site technician training) as necessary from the OEM or manufacturer
